#1 The surprising WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match
The main event of this week’s SmackDown saw Sasha Banks and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley going after Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Cross was on the front foot from the opening bell and wasn’t afraid to take down Bayley as soon as the bell rang. Frequent tags kept the action fresh, as all four women got equal time to show their skills and keep their team in the match.
Once Bliss got the advantage, The Legit Boss distracted her, allowing The Role Model to cut her off and take back the control of the match. Bliss managed to fight out of an attempted Bayley to Belly suplex, and miscommunication began to drive a fork in The Boss N’ Hug Connection’s journey.
Where is SmackDown going with this story?
Banks managed to pin Cross to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to the surprise of the entire WWE Universe. Bliss and Cross had been doing well as Champions, and it felt like this match was booked to create even more differences between Banks and Bayley.
However, the SmackDown creatives have other plans, and it seems like their reign together as Champions will be the major point in their breakup. We could see Bliss and Cross win back the titles early, leading to the breakup that everyone has been looking forward to.
