#1. Jey Uso prepares to take flight against his cousin following WWE SmackDown
During this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Sheamus attacked Big E backstage and took the powerhouse down, laying him out in the parking lot. This left a place in the Fatal Four-Way match to crown the number one contender to Roman Reigns’ WWE Universal Championship open. Apparently, Paul Heyman suggested that Jey Uso replace Big E.
Sheamus, Matt Riddle, and King Corbin geared up as Uso returned to the SmackDown ring for the first time since May. The action was hot right from the opening bell as all four men went after each other to get a headstart.
While Sheamus and Riddle seemed to be the favorites to win the contest, Jey managed to finish off The King of Bros with a big splash to take the victory.
After the match, Jey cut a promo to remind that WWE Universe that the cousins will be competing for the Universal Championship at WWE Clash of Champions.
While Big E was the best pick among the lot, WWE did the right thing by pulling him out of the contest and saving his rise for a later date. Jey is an impressive athlete, and he too deserves big opportunities like everyone else.
Having Jey compete with his cousin will allow WWE to tell a greater story, and possibly even prolong the rivalry while Reigns generates more. Also, a loss wouldn't hurt the former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion's image.
