While we often knock part-timers for taking up spots, we can't deny that the older generation was better than the current one when it comes to the art of cutting promos. It comes naturally to them and it's clear that they focused on that just as much, if not more than their in-ring performance.

Edge's opening promo on the latest episode in front of an empty crowd proved that he can do it anywhere. While it would have had a great effect if a crowd was there, we noticed that there's a unique feel about promos in these empty arenas.

In Edge's case, the promo came off as far more intense and he brought up both his and Randy Orton's history with Mick Foley, possibly indicating that he could be the special guest referee. He challenged Randy Orton to a Last Man Standing match and that was somewhere along the lines of the stipulation that we expected.

Would Foley as the guest referee be a good idea?
