While his Street Fight against Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 17 is well-known, Vince McMahon has also faced Stephanie McMahon in a pay-per-view match. Following months of disagreement on the booking of SmackDown in the summer of 2003, the father and daughter pair clashed in a brutal 'I Quit' Match at WWE No Mercy.
That was exactly what Vince showed in this match: no mercy. This was him at his villainous worst, as he pummeled his daughter just so she would resign as the general manager of the blue brand. That being said, Stephanie put up a valiant effort and garnered quite a lot of sympathy from the fans.
It sounds outrageous, but this story worked. The two McMahons had a heated rivalry, and everything came to a head in this match. The bout and the beatdown walked the fine line between heel heat and genuine uneasiness, with Linda McMahon ultimately throwing in the towel on her daughter's behalf.
This match took place just six days before Stephanie's wedding with Triple H, which makes this whole ordeal even more bizarre. Nevertheless, it was a pretty compelling story between a likable babyface and a detestable heel.
