#3 Why the Triple Threat between The Shield was scrapped
WrestleMania XXX ended up being one of the best ‘Mania events in recent memory, with Brock Lesnar’s shocking victory over The Undertaker and Daniel Bryan’s long-awaited WWE Championship win being the major highlights.
However, the final card changed significantly from what WWE had originally planned, with rumours at the time suggesting that Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were going to face each other in a Triple Threat match.
That plan reportedly changed due to CM Punk’s exit and the negative reaction towards Batista, which meant the hugely popular Bryan – originally due to face Sheamus – took on Triple H and then joined Randy Orton and Batista in the main event.
It was reported before ‘Mania that a Triple Threat between the three Shield members was scrapped because WWE didn’t want two high-profile Triple Threat matches on the card. Instead, they defeated Kane & The New Age Outlaws in the shortest match of the show.
