When he first began in World Championship Wrestling, Goldberg had a very raw quality about him, and his short and explosive matches worked well for him. That intense quality met with great success.

He captured the WCW United States and World Championship and had memorable feuds with the likes of Hollywood Hulk Hogan and the nWo. After WCW closed its doors, Goldberg's contract eventually came to an end and an opportunity presented itself for him to join WWE.

His time in WWE was short-lived, as he came in, captured the WWE championship and then departed the company after Wrestlemania XX. It wasn't until years later when Goldberg would return, and managed to capture the Universal championship.

Many know of his professional football career prior to joining WCW, but what many may not know is that he spent time after leaving WWE the first time around as an MMA colour commentator for the World Fighting Alliance promotion. His in-ring character came to the forefront outside the ring as well.
