Back during The Shield's first run in the WWE, they were one of the most over factions in the history of the company and it looked like nothing could slow them down. Even the first breakup of the trio was done in a way to protect and elevate Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and especially Roman Reigns.

While Seth was hated for being a heel and Dean was loved for being a babyface, Roman soon found himself as the lone man out. Despite being pencilled in for the most successful amongst the three men, the fans turned their back on The Big Dog being shoved down their throats and have been booing him for years up until his recent Shield reunion.
