In 2008, John Cena returned at Survivor Series to face Chris Jericho after a number of months away due to shoulder surgery. That night he defeated Y2J and won WWE's World Heavyweight Championship belt for the first time. Two PPV's later at No Way Out, Cena was on the losing end as Edge won the World Heavyweight Championship inside the Elimination Chamber.

According to WWE rules, a champion that loses his championship is entitled to a rematch, and Cena got his rematch at the grandest stage of them all. Unfortunately, a huge obstacle was added to the match: The Big Show.

At the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, the stakes were high as John Cena faced two big challenges in the form of Edge and Big Show. As the match reached its climax, Edge locked the Big Show in a sleeper hold. As Edge was on top of Big Show trying to increase the effect of the sleeper hold, Cena did the unthinkable. Cena lifted the Big Show and Edge, both of them on his shoulders.
