The man we now know as Kane playing the role of Fake Diesel

Glenn Jacobs, the man behind the Kane mask, has been blessed with one of the greatest gimmicks in pro wrestling history. It wasn't all plain sailing for Glenn though and some of you may even remember a time when he portrayed an evil dentist named Isaac Yankem.

Between his time as a dentist and becoming "The Big Red Machine", Jacobs had a different role. The man who would become Kane was tasked with playing Fake Diesel. Kevin Nash and Razor Ramon had recently left for WCW so naturally, WWE wanted to mock their former employees.

Jacobs and a man named Rick Bognar played Fake Diesel and Fake Razor, respectively. They worked together as a tag team and were even awarded a shot at the Tag Team Championships, thankfully a match they lost. Luckily the following year Jacobs was awarded the Kane gimmick and the rest is history.
