Interestingly, this wasn't the first WWE Monday Night RAW main event for either of these two as they were able to take over the show in January 2021. Alexa Bliss' newest persona after being invited to the dark side by The Fiend allowed her to push up the ladder and get a match against The Empress Of Tomorrow.
It was initially a non-title match that main evented Monday Night RAW in which Bliss showed that she is now able to change from the bubbly character to her dark persona in the middle of a live match.

The Goddess was about to win the WWE RAW Women's Championship by using The Mandible Claw when Randy Orton appeared to deliver an RKO. The former World Champion had unfinished business with Bliss which could become more apparent at this year's Royal Rumble.
