The official soon declared that Shane needed medical assistance, and he was eliminated from the match as a result. While the paramedics were taking Shane away, many fans noticed that Randy Orton approached Shane's son and wife and consoled them in one of the most wholesome moments in WWE history.
Although Shane couldn't do much for his team due to being taken out of the match following the thunderous Spear, Team SmackDown eventually won the match and Orton had a lot to do with the victory. The final moments of the bout saw Orton sacrificing himself and taking a Spear from Reigns, which was meant for Bray Wyatt. This gave Wyatt enough time to hit Reigns with a Sister Abigail and win the match for his team.

He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback.
