#5 Samoa Joe invades AJ Styles' house - WWE Smackdown
Samoa Joe is one of those WWE Superstars who are well known for backing their words with actions. So when Joe renewed his TNA rivalry with AJ Styles in the summer of 2018, fans knew that they were about to witness a very personal rivalry.
After becoming the new challenger for the WWE title, Joe started playing mind games with The Phenomenal One. As the rivalry progressed, Joe launched more personal attacks on Styles and his family.
During their SummerSlam match, Joe stepped up on the announcers' desk and made a very distasteful comment. He told Styles' daughter that after Styles loses the bout, he will become her new father. Joe's comments enraged Styles, who then brutalized him with steel chairs.
However, Joe kept making Styles' life a living hell. During their contract signing segment for Super Showdown 2018, Joe invaded Styles' house. He constantly threatened to get into AJ's house while the latter stood helpless in the ring. He begged Joe not to go into the house.
The segment went off the air with Joe ringing Styles' doorbell and saying," Daddy's home". It was one of the most heinous ways to agitate a person, which was quite evident from Styles' expressions that turned from anger into fear in a matter of seconds.
#4 Paige mocks Charlotte's deceased brother - WWE RAW
The WWE Women's Revolution reached its newest heights in the year 2015 when WWE called up several NXT Superstars to the main roster. This promotion of Superstars led to the formation of a memorable yet short-lived women's faction, Team PCB.
The faction comprised Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Paige. However, after Charlotte Flair became the new Divas Champion, Paige turned on the group and brutalized both Charlotte and Becky. All these events led to a highly anticipated match between Charlotte and Paige at Survivor Series 2015. During the contract signing of this bout, Paige and Charlotte traded some heated words.
But Paige's outrageous comment about Charlotte's younger brother Reid Flair, unfortunately, became the infamous highlight of this segment. After Charlotte declared herself as part of a 'Family of Fighters', Paige made fun of Charlotte's brother, who passed away in 2013 due to a drug overdose.
She said that her little brother didn't have much fight in him, clearly mocking his helplessness in overcoming drug addiction. It remains one of the most controversial WWE segments of the modern era. Paige herself didn't look very comfortable during the delivery of the line. WWE's strategy of making this rivalry more personal drew some heat from the fans. It turned Paige into one of the most genuinely hated Superstars for a while.
#3. Randy Orton insults Ric Flair - WWE RAW
Randy Orton and Ric Flair were a part of a temporary WWE alliance during the summer of 2020. At this time, Orton was red-hot due to his Legend Killer gimmick. On the second episode of WWE RAW in August 2020, Orton went one on one with Kevin Owens.
The match was made official when Kevin Owens challenged Randy Orton after a heated conversation with Ric Flair. After a hard-fought battle, Orton picked up the victory with a vicious RKO. After the match, Orton grabbed the mic and delivered one of the best WWE promos of 2020.
Randy Orton said he loved Ric Flair, but now the latter had become a liability for him. He even brought his deceased son into the conversation. Randy said that he was the son Ric always wanted to have. He also accused the Nature Boy of stealing his spotlight. He called him washed up and mocked his serious health problems.
Ric Flair got emotional and told Randy that he loved him very much. The Nature Boy even said that he wanted Randy to break his record of most WWE World Championships. The two Superstars then hugged each other. But Orton low-blowed Ric Flair, and then Punt-kicked him right in the head.
It was one of the most despicable acts that Randy Orton ever committed, as he harassed a 72-year-old man, both physically and mentally.
#2 Kevin Owens makes a distasteful comment about Shane McMahon - WWE Smackdown
Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon share a detailed history. Both Superstars had two entertaining WWE feuds during 2017 and 2019. In their first feud in 2017, both Owens and McMahon became a part of many intense segments. During the first Smackdown episode of September 2017, Owens said one of the most disgraceful things a man could ever say.
At that time, Shane McMahon was part of an unfortunate helicopter crash in real life, which he thankfully survived. WWE decided to use this real-life incident in the ongoing storyline to attract the attention of viewers.
The two Superstars had a very heated argument, as Owens accused McMahon of holding him back on Smackdown. As the segment progressed, KO got more and more personal with Shane and even dragged his kids into the conversation.
When Shane warned KO for not mentioning his kids again, the latter replied that Shane's whole family would have been better if he hadn't survived that helicopter crash. McMahon was furious after this comment and started to beat up Owens.
He kept assaulting Owens until Daniel Bryan intervened to save KO. It was one of the most well-executed segments of 2017. Owens was heavily praised for his amazing heel-work, which made many viewers feel uncomfortable on purpose.
#1 Randy Orton makes a surprising statement about Eddie Guerrero - WWE Smackdown
When it comes to making unpleasant comments and committing sinful acts, there is no other WWE Superstar who is better at doing that than Randy Orton. The Legend Killer has made many outrageous comments about various WWE Superstars over the years.
One such incident happened in 2006 when Randy Orton was feuding with Rey Mysterio. Rey had just won the Royal Rumble Match, and he dedicated his victory to his late friend, Eddie Guerrero. Eddie had passed away in 2005 due to an unfortunate heart failure.
During the buildup to their match at No Way Out, Orton and Mysterio became a part of a very despicable segment. During the segment, Orton mentioned Rey's best friend Eddie and started trash-talking about him. While talking about Eddie, Randy said that he wasn't in heaven but was residing down in hell.
It was a cheap way to generate heel heat, as it came through the exploitation of a real-life tragedy. WWE was heavily criticized for playing with such a sensitive issue. Orton himself faced major fan backlash for mocking Guerrero's untimely death.
