#1 Bret Hart punches Vince McMahon following the Montreal Screwjob
The Montreal Screwjob is one of the most important moments in the history of pro wrestling and is still talked about to this day. Many dub it as the moment that gave birth to the Attitude Era, and it effectively ended the relationship between Vince McMahon and Bret Hart. The former WWE Champion has spoken about the incident on various occasions, but he recently opened up on it again and put the claims to rest that stated that Vince McMahon let Bret Hart hit him.
The Undertaker had a take on it. His take on it a few months ago - and they always say stuff like, 'Vince probably said before he walked in that he was going to let me take a shot at him.' I don't remember that ever happening and I don't remember Vince saying anything like that to me in my dressing room that he's going to let me take one shot at him. There was no one shot [offer]. I took my own shot. I doubt that's the case. [McMahon] never saw it coming.

Vince McMahon and Bret Hart would make amends years later, for the latter's Hall of Fame induction
Bret Hart left for WCW following the Montreal Screwjob, while Vince McMahon berated him on WWE TV during an interview with Jim Ross. Vince McMahon and Bret Hart made amends years later, and Hart was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. Bret Hart fought Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26 and defeated him in what was dubbed by many as Hart's revenge for what had happened on that fateful night in 1997.
