Another WWE Superstar who lost his title before WrestleMania is Kevin Owens. In 2017, WWE was building Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg II for the 'Shows of Shows'. All of a sudden, they felt the need for a title in this storyline.

Goldberg confronted Kevin Owens, a heel at that time, and their match was booked for the Fastlane pay-per-view. As expected, Goldberg won this match and became the new Universal Champion, thanks to Chris Jericho for causing a distraction.
At 'Mania, Lesnar defeated Goldberg and became the new champion. He kept it for a long time before losing it to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2019.
Fans are still upset that Owens never had a lengthy title reign. He could have done wonders as a champion in WWE but unfortunately, he didn't get the opportunity to do so. Despite being a heel, fans accepted Owens as a champion and he did great things as long as he had the belt with him.
