#3 WWE veteran The Big Show was warned about John Cena
Sticking with The Big Show... On an episode of The Bump in April 2020, the seven-foot WWE Superstar admitted that he requested to put his WWE United States Championship on the line against the up-and-coming John Cena at WrestleMania XX in 2004.
At the time, Big Show saw a lot of potential in Cena and believed he could go on to become one of WWE’s top Superstars. However, as the WWE veteran recalled, not everybody felt the same way.
“That day I had about eight little private meetings where all these guys were telling me why I shouldn’t work with this kid because he’s a flash in the pan, he’s this, he’s that, and I’m like, ‘No, I think there’s something more to the guy.’ And years later now those same people that questioned him line up to shake his hand, tell him how amazing he is.”
As Big Show said, Cena went on to cement his status as one of the greatest WWE Superstars in history during his full-time run with the company between 2002 and 2016.
Show also joked that he has “a nose for talent” and knew that Cena would be successful before everybody else.
