#4 CM Punk brings up Jeff Hardy's history of substance abuse

CM Punk and Jeff Hardy crossed paths back in 2009 which ended with The Charismatic Enigma quitting WWE. The rivalry was very personal because of the values represented by both WWE Superstars. Punk was well-known for his "straight edge" style of living while Hardy has a history of drug overdose and had gotten in trouble with WWE for the same on several occasions in the past.

It was the 1st July 2009 episode of SmackDown when CM Punk decided to blur the lines between kayfabe and reality as he targeted Jeff Hardy with a scathing promo prior to the duo's scheduled match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.

"This is Polymyxin B Sulfate. I have to apply this to my eye three times a day. The only way you obtain this is with a prescription from a doctor. Now, I know, you know a thing or two about prescription medication. What I don't think you realize, is that you have to go to a doctor to legally obtain some. Unlike you, Jeff, this is the only foreign substance I will allow in my body."

This outburst obviously caught Hardy as well as the fans in the arena by surprise who continued to boo Punk.
