SummerSlam 2024 is only a couple of weeks away, and the match card has started to take shape. Three championship matches have already been announced, and a few others may find a spot, too. Currently, the World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE Women's Championship, and the Women's World Title are slated to be defended at The Biggest Party of The Summer.

While the current champions are representing the coveted belts quite well, it's time for the titles to change hands to keep the story moving forward. The WWE Universe does not need another Roman Reigns kind of reign, where the title just doesn't seem to get passed on.

Here are five championships that are likely to change hands at SummerSlam 2024:

#5. Nia Jax defeats Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship

Bayley defeated former Damage CTRL teammate IYO SKY on Night Two of WrestleMania 40 to claim the WWE Women's Championship. However, The Role Model has had an underwhelming run with the title since The Show of Shows.

On the other hand, Nia Jax has been climbing the ladder since her return. She earned the title shot at SummerSlam 2024 by winning the Queen of the Ring tournament in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, earlier this year. Furthermore, The Irresistible Force is on a red-hot run currently, thanks to strong booking and an improved in-ring style. Hence, it makes sense for her to claim the WWE Women's Title.

The Australian's rise to the top of SmackDown's Women's Division and her real-life relationship with The Bloodline members can also pave the way for Nia Jax to become the first woman to be added to the heel faction.

#4. Bron Breakker defeats Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship

Sami Zayn recently completed 100 days as WWE Intercontinental Champion. The former Bloodline associate has had an impressive reign where he has defeated the likes of Chad Gable, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker. Zayn defeated Breakker at the recent Money in the Bank PLE. He also defended the championship against Ilja Dragunov on Monday Night RAW. But the match ended in a no-contest due to interference from Breakker.

With Ilja Dragunov added to the ongoing Sami-Bron saga, the IC Title would likely be defended in a Triple Threat Match at The Biggest Party of The Summer. Breakker is currently red-hot thanks to his booking as an unhinged beast. The 26-year-old suffered a clean defeat at the hands of Zayn in Canada earlier this month. Hence, if WWE books Bron for another IC Championship match at SummerSlam, then the talented wrestler must claim the title, as another setback could derail his momentum completely.

So, it would be beneficial for Breakker to win the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam 2024 and establish himself as a top competitor on Monday Night RAW.

#3. LA Knight defeats US Champion Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024

LA Knight has already signed the contract for a US Title match against reigning champion Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024. However, The Maverick has yet to sign the contract. It's been a while since Paul defended the championship, and fans have been eager to witness someone dethrone the social media star.

LA Knight is very popular with the WWE Universe and, of course, deserves the gold considering his in-ring and character work. Additionally, the prestige of the coveted US Championship has taken a hit in recent times due to the lack of defenses by The Maverick.

If the match does take place in Cleveland next month, the YouTuber will likely employ his brass knuckles to steal a victory. However, The Megastar could use the knuckles to his advantage to claim the title.

#2. The Bloodline defeats #DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championship

The Bloodline is engaged in a feud with Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens. There is a chance Solo Sikoa will take on The American Nightmare at SummerSlam 2024, but WWE might not have Sikoa dethrone Rhodes.

On the other hand, two out of Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu, and Tonga Loa, can pursue the WWE Tag Team Championship by taking on reigning champions Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa at The Biggest Party of The Summer. #DIY suffered a vicious attack at the hands of Jacob Fatu on SmackDown last week, which indicates that the heel faction has its eyes on the tag title.

The heel faction could likely claim the WWE Tag Team Championship if it goes up against #DIY at SummerSlam. This will mark the first championship win for The Bloodline since WrestleMania 40 and will likely add credibility to Solo Sikoa's leadership.

#1. Gunther dethrones Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2024

Seth Rollins did justice to the World Heavyweight Championship and defended it like a true fighting champion. Damian Priest has tried the same during his reign. However, the past few months have been more about a change in his character arc than his title reign.

WWE has been hinting at a face-turn for The Archer of Infamy for months due to growing friction between him and Finn Balor. The Prince could cost Priest the World Title at SummerSlam, which could lead to a full-blown feud between The Judgment Day members.

Additionally, Gunther, thanks to his impressive body of work, seems ready to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Hence, it's unlikely that El Campeon will walk out of Cleveland with the prized gold.
