In just one year, Styles has changed from Smackdown Live's Top Babyface to Raw's Top Heel.
There are not many Superstars who can effectively portray intimidating heels as well as fan-favorite babyfaces. Luckily, The Phenomenal One knows how to connect with the WWE Universe in either role.

This time last year, AJ Styles was the reigning WWE Champion and one of the top babyfaces not just on the Blue Brand but in the entire WWE.
This year ,however, the story is a little different. Around two months ago, Styles turned heel and reformed "The Club" with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson by attacking Ricochet. This was the first time since April 2017 that Styles was portraying a villainous character as the leader of The OC.

Styles won the US Title from Ricochet at Extreme Rules and has been running through the roster along with his stable-mates ever since.
If Styles continues to gain momentum, it will only be a matter of time before he can challenge for the Universal Championship.

Ali Siddiqui is a listicle and feature writer for Sportskeeda Wrestling since 2018. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, he decided to write for Sportskeeda Wrestling after learning about it through a friend. He briefly worked for The Sportster as well.
Ali's love for pro wrestling dates back to when Randy Orton won a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. His current favorite wrestler is Cody Rhodes because he's the ultimate throwback babyface. He believes Rhodes has the Surfer Sting's passion, Bret Hart's prop-gifting schtick, a catchy theme like Hogan's, and a kid-friendly demeanor akin to John Cena's.
When he is not doing research for his articles on Google or catching up with the latest in pro wrestling, Ali can be found honing his Data Science and AI skills as he strives to get back into tech in the near future.
