Being a WWE superstar seems to go hand in hand with being a movie star these days. Well, maybe not a movie star, but acting in films in some capacity, anyway. Ever since Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson broke barriers to become the top actor in Hollywood, more and more superstars have been trying their hand at films.
This has been further enhanced by the fact that the WWE now owns a production house of its own where it produces movies for current WWE superstars to star in. The likes of John Cena, Randy Orton, and The Miz have all taken advantage of this fact to become leading men on the silver screen.
You can hardly blame professional wrestlers who decide to dabble in the world of movies. After all, the money there is significantly better, and it allows you the opportunity to attract mainstream fans like what Batista managed to do with Guardians of the Galaxy. But, not all superstars share this ambition.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
There are some top stars from the WWE who have steadfastly refused the advances of Hollywood and the big screen to concentrate on their work inside the squared circle. In fact, they haven’t even made cameo appearances. Today, we explore these people.
So, without any further ado, here are 5 top WWE superstars who have never appeared in a movie:
#5 Lita
We start off the list with one of the top women wrestlers to have ever graced the WWE – Lita. While her long time in-ring rival and real life best friend, Trish Stratus, used her WWE fame to grab a number of roles in the movie industry, the redhaired WWE legend never followed suit.
She was more than happy to make a name for herself as one of the finest wrestlers in the world and even after retirement, she decided to return to the WWE in some capacity or another, mostly as an analyst for preshows of WWE pay per views.
The WWE Hall of Famer was never one for the mainstream spotlight, and her actions are quite commendable when you consider the fact that she’s a beautiful woman who would have had no shortage of Hollywood suitors trying to cash in on her popularity within the wrestling industry.
#4 Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan was one of the finest technical wrestlers on the planet before injuries forced him into an early retirement. But, during his heydey, there was no one more popular than Bryan in the entire world of professional wrestling.
The Yes movement built to such a crescendo that there was no way he wasn’t going to be considered a megastar, and it made all the sense in the world for him to cash in on it and make a huge movie.
Except, he rejected all such notions because of his love for wrestling. In fact, he cut one of the most scathing promos ever when he accused John Cena of doing exactly that – cashing in on his popularity for mainstream fame.
Even today, Bryan doesn’t hesitate to take a shot at part-timers and their activities away from the squared circle. I’m sure given a choice between being the biggest movie star on the planet and the chance to wrestle again, he would take the latter in a heartbeat.
#3 Bret Hart
Bret Hart was one of the most popular superstars in the world during his glory days in the 1990s, and there were ample opportunities for him to use this to transition into more mainstream success, and he actually gave it a shot.
Unfortunately for The Hitman, the only movie role he ever landed – a small one in Natural Born Killers – was cut from the released version of the movie. He never bothered to go back for a second shot at Hollywood after that.
The wrestling legend is an exception on this list as all the others voluntarily avoided the movie industry. Hart is one who tried and failed at it.

#2 AJ Styles
Considering the incredible recognition and popularity that AJ Styles enjoys, it’s perhaps surprising that he has never been anywhere near an actual movie. Maybe this is because he hasn’t been in the WWE for very long. Maybe this is because he enjoys playing a heel too much. Maybe he just isn’t leading man material with his Southern accent and gruff look.
Whatever the reason, The Phenomenal One – the best wrestler in the WWE today – hasn’t been given a shot at mainstream success. I doubt he cares very much considering he is worshipped in the world of professional wrestling.
Also, he’s very similar to Daniel Bryan in his love for wrestling, so you can expect him to turn down offers even if they came his way.
#1 Brock Lesnar
Surprising, isn’t it? The man who loves money refuses to go into a business which will give him massive amounts of it. The reason is quite simple really. Brock Lesnar is a highly private person and, he would lose that privacy if he ever ventured into the world of movies.
Also, he loves beating people up too much to ever give it up and go into films, I’d imagine. Regardless of the reasons, Brock Lesnar has never appeared in a movie in his life.
