Could Heath Slater turn on Daniel Bryan and align himself with Drew Gulak?

Both Drew Gulak and Heath Slater have been featured more prominently on SmackDown recently. On the latest episode of SmackDown, we saw Daniel Bryan challenge Drew Gulak to a singles match at WWE Elimination Chamber

According to Paul Davis of Wrestling News Co, the reason behind Gulak and Slater being featured recently is that they are good friends with Daniel Bryan. Davis explained that Bryan thought both Superstars were being underutilized by WWE which led to him pitching the current angle to Vince McMahon.

Bryan is someone who always wants to elevate his opponent. With the storyline just having started, we could see Drew Gulak even pull off a surprising win at Elimination Chamber. If the storyline is continuing, we could even see Heath Slater turning heel and costing Daniel Bryan the match. Slater and Gulak could make a solid and entertaining tag-team down the line and this could be one way to get it started.
