Every time a pay-per-view comes around, rumours go crazy about who is going to return, which titles are going change hands, and which match is going to see a big upset. Generally, most things go as expected, or at least nothing Earth-shattering happens, but sometimes WWE can surprise us.
I wonder if there will be any switches between faces and heels this time around, or maybe the appearance of a legend or a surprise victory that helps propel someone higher up the card without hurting the person who takes the loss.
They say that “anything can happen in WWE”, so let's put that to the test and talk about 5 twists that WWE might pull at Sunday's TLC event.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5 The Undertaker costs AJ Styles the WWE World Title
We know that WWE is possibly planning a match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles for the Royal Rumble PPV in January. While we often see The Undertaker show up after matches are over, there is some recent precedent that he has no problem interfering in a match when someone upsets him.
AJ Styles losing his cool and getting his own team member eliminated at Survivor Series could have certainly upset The Undertaker. Ambrose did the same, but it was retaliatory in nature, as opposed to Styles essentially offering up Ambrose on a silver platter.
If Undertaker can hold an 18-month grudge, he could certainly do something after only a couple of weeks.
AJ would win the title back before Royal Rumble so he can lose it to Undertaker later, but this twist at TLC is something that could happen.
#4 Heath Slater and Rhyno retain their titles
It looks like the SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions are going to be staring across the ring at Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton at TLC.
When they took on The Usos at No Mercy, everyone thought it was obvious that the newly heel-turned Jimmy and Jey were going to come in with all guns blazing and leave as the new Tag Team Champions, but that didn't happen.
What if we get the same result this time? The audience is still in love with Slater and Rhyno. Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton losing the match gives them a reason for a power struggle, as they will both try to be the leader in the match and miscommunication could ruin their shot at the titles. That would lead to them fighting over who the leader is.
As much as a Wyatt Family Tag Title reign would work to give them more power, is WWE willing to go with this for the long run or will the split happen sooner rather than later?
#3 Alexa Bliss dominates Becky Lynch
The odds are about 50-50 that Alexa Bliss is going to become the new SmackDown Live Women's Champion on Sunday.
What are the odds, though, that she completely dismantles and dominates Becky Lynch? Their last match was pretty even, but Bliss has one heck of a mean streak and she will definitely be tapping into it when the bright lights are on and it's time for her title rematch.

Remember, she got her foot on the ropes and the referee made a bad call in Glasgow. Alexa isn't going to let herself get put into a position like that again, so would want to be vicious and effective from the get-go.
Becky will get some offence in, but it won’t amount to much with Bliss being incredibly aggressive. This could be Bliss’ last shot at the title, as it seems like Daniel Bryan didn't even want to give her this match, to begin with.
This gives Alexa Bliss more motivation to destroy Becky at all costs.
#2 Carmella beats Nikki Bella
The No Disqualification match at TLC screams for Nikki to win and for Carmella to get her comeuppance after months of attacks on the Bella twin.
But would a loss really hurt Nikki?
Of course not. Nikki is bulletproof, and a win for Carmella would solidify her as a legitimate threat to the SmackDown Live Women's Championship. Carmella doesn't need the win, but it certainly would be helpful to her career.
Will it happen? Probably not, but WWE could surprise us.
#1 James Ellsworth turns on Dean Ambrose
What?
Of course! What would be a bigger twist than this? Dean Ambrose essentially did all the work for him, so shouldn’t he be grateful?
Maybe. But at the same time, Ellsworth has consistently stressed that he has wanted to do things on his own. A heel turn would make perfect sense for the guy. He’s gaining some confidence, which can be big trouble for Ambrose come Sunday night in the TLC match.
James Ellsworth comes out to help Dean and to cheer him on against Styles, but just as it seems like Ambrose is going to climb the ladder and become a 2-time WWE World Champion, Ellsworth distracts him, then smiles and pushes the ladder over, sending Ambrose crashing through tables on the outside of the ring.
Darn it, Dean, he has two hands and a fighting chance. You should have let him take that chance on his own.
