During 2005-2006, Kurt Angle was a dominant figure in WWE. Throughout his path, Angle was on a quest to beat John Cena for the WWE Championship. Every chance Angle had at the WWE Championship, he would come so close to beating Cena. With the Elimination Chamber Match being Angle's final opportunity at the WWE Championship, he knew he had to be on top of his game.

When Angle was inside the Elimination Chamber at WWE New Year's Revolution in 2006, he was on a warpath the moment he was released from his pod. Angle made an impact on Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Carlito.

As Angle was on his way to becoming the new WWE Champion, he received a Sweet Chin Music from Michaels. Unfortunately for Angle, he was surprisingly eliminated by Shawn Michaels. Angle ended up being the first person eliminated from the match. Most WWE fans were expecting to see Angle, Michaels, and Cena as the last three remaining participants in the matchup.
