1. John Cena

It will be unfair to mention record WWE World Championship reigns and not bring up John Cena or Ric Flair. However, unlike the latter, Cena has a solid chance to be the undisputed holder of this particular record. The Leader of Cenation tied Flair's record of 16 World Championship reigns at Royal Rumble 2017. However, ever since, Cena has come short in his pursuit to break Flair's record.

In the latter phase of his career, Cena has put over many young talents such as Finn Balor, Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. It was only his absence that made fans appreciate the work Cena has done for more than 17 years. It will be fitting to have him break Flair's record that has eluded him since losing the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber 2017.

Thus, it should not come as a surprise if we see the Doctor of Thuganomics lift the coveted championship once again.
