As wonderful as the feud between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso has been, the current Universal Champion really needs an opponent like Edge to make his feud feel special. At no point did any of us believe that Jey Uso had the remotest chance at winning the new WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns, but Edge is a different story.

Edge vs. Roman Reigns is a big-ticket match and as good as SmackDown has been, the Universal Championship could become a lot more prestigious if these two men slug it out at the top of the Blue Brand.

It could be an important stepping stone to Roman Reigns vs. The Rock or Roman Reigns vs. Big E, or whatever the plan is at WrestleMania. It's very unlikely that Edge will become the face of SmackDown at his age, but it'll still make things interesting to see him mix it up with The Big Dog.
