Before jumping off to the comment section to absolutely discard this case, let me present the scenario. At Hell in a Cell PPV main event, one of Reigns or Strowman would come out as a wounded victor, which most probably would be Reigns. Despite who wins the hard fought match, the winner won’t be in a condition to fight. Corbin’s theme hits and he comes out with a referee and MITB contract and orders referee to start the match which he eventually wins closing out the show.

The controversial finish would create some serious buzz and the next night, Corbin would open RAW to explain his actions. He just has to say that Strowman gave him the briefcase in exchange for a title shot at HIAC which he approved, but he never said the match would be as per contract. Corbin as the Acting GM approved Strowman’s wishes. While the contract was still intact. He could go on and explain his failed cash-in as a motivation for his move and he wanted to remove that black mark from his resume.
