Thousand of fans across the world had tears in their eyes after they saw Kofi lift the title for the first time in his 11-year-long WWE career. What you may not know is that ten years ago, Kofi was about to receive a similar push.

However, Randy Orton used his influence to curb those plans and Kofi's probable Championship run never saw the light of the day. Fast forward to 2019, the Viper once again decided to pick a feud with the New Day member as he believes that Kofi is still not worthy of being the champion.

The Apex Predator's intention to take away Kofi's gold may be billed as a part of kayfabe in the present-day but it sure has a long history to fuel the upcoming battle.

Kofi has had a brilliant run as the WWE Champion so far. It would be amazing to see him prove his worth to Orton by successfully defending his title against one of the biggest rivals in his career.
