5 ways WWE can get the Universal Championship off Roman Reigns without him looking bad

WWE will look to book a big match for Roman Reigns when it plans to take the Universal Championship off him. Multi-men matches have always allowed WWE to protect some of its biggest superstars from taking the fall. WWE recently booked a Fatal 5-Way Match for the NXT title at TakeOver: In Your House 2021.

The match could have allowed WWE the perfect chance to take the NXT Championship off Karrion Kross without denting his credibility. However, the creative team allowed him to retain the title and come out looking even stronger.

NXT may have booked itself into a corner with the outcome of that match. But Smackdown could do something different to take the title off Roman Reigns. The Tribal Chief has made a few too many enemies on the Blue brand in recent months.

This could provide WWE an opportunity to book a multi-man match between some of the top men in the company for the Universal Championship. Roman Reigns could be booked to take on Seth Rollins and Edge, or some other SmackDown Superstars for the Universal Championship.

The match would allow WWE a chance to only have Reigns’ opponents get involved in the finish of the match while protecting The Head of the Table. Such a match has usually helped WWE protect some top superstars while taking the title away from them.
