One of the main reasons why The Fiend vs Roman Reigns could have been purposely delayed in WWE is because this is not the kind of one-off feud that will end without any notable consequences.

Roman Reigns and The Fiend are two big entities in WWE right now, and a feud between them won't just attract a lot of attention, but it will also result in permanent consequences for either Superstar, in terms of character.

The Fiend's victory in next year's 30-Man Royal Rumble Match would inadvertently cause both Superstars' paths to cross at the Grandest Stage of Them All, and nothing could be grander than a blockbuster match between two of the most trending stars from the current generation.
