The Viper needs a new opponent to work with
Much like Roman Reigns, Randy Orton is the elder statesman of the SmackDown Live locker room right now. He's elevated superstars such as Jinder Mahal and Luke Harper by working with them. Cass could come back in the same 'legend killer' gimmick that Orton made famous. Except in this case, Randy Orton would be the legend.

Orton and Cass would be a fresh feud and certainly more exciting than anything that Orton has done recently. Cass could benefit immensely from his expertise and gain from being in a program with him. Orton is one of those performers that's supremely good, but his brilliance is often understated.
The key to this feud is that Cass would have to stand tall at the very end. This will not be difficult to achieve considering that Orton has put over superstars like Mahal, for the greater good.
Big Cass is the future and Randy Orton realizes that!
