Well, WWE has time and again tried to boost Ryback’s career by pushing him with gimmicks that never got over. But there still seems to be that spark that you seldom see on his social media accounts or house shows where performers are allowed to have a little more freedom with their characters since these shows are not televised.
It took the 34 year old, billed from Las Vegas, Nevada, 3 years to win his first championship in the WWE despite being pushed so much in these past few years. He is now ina feud with the US Champion. But his character is still not as rabidly over as expected. Here are the 5 ways WWE can boost Ryback’s career.

1). Repeat the house show antics
Much of the charm about witnessing or hearing any news coming from house shows is the way performers are free to do what they want compared to the restrictions and creative control the company has on the main shows.
But during the European tour Ryback tried out some well tested heel tactics and succeeded. The fans seemed to enjoy it much. Once such incident has him taking off his locket to seemingly hand it over to a fan but he drops it before the fan could actually take it. The young fan took it in stride and gave a reluctant smile. Ryback though walked off laughing away, satisfied at this hilariously heartbreaking moment.
Another such incident has him tearing off fan signs. Now this can definitely be an extension of his heel character on the main shows. He could do that to just about any fan or the biggest fans of his opponents.
2). The Big Guy
Much has been said about how he has the protocol WWE build. This had much to do with him being portrayed as a relevant character apart from the fact that as a Nexus member he was able to connect in parts with the fanbase.
Now he just won the US Championship from Kalisto who is much smaller than Ryback. Have him face smaller wrestlers but not have him squash them. Let him win after a fight and some cheating. So, every small guy looks like an underdog in front of him and one knows how fans are affected when the underdog always loses to this Goliath. This can in many ways get the audience to keep booing him.
3). Feud with Brock Lesnar
There was this one time when news started making the rounds that Lesnar had a backstage altercation with Ryback and this was a few years back. Ryback was still squashing local jobbers and Lesnar was just fresh of his return to WWE.
The reports even said that Ryback was a bit injured as well, though he did wrestle his match that night. But nothing came off it afterwards. Now, Ryback may not be a great in-ring performer but a feud with The Beast will any day put you on the map with a lot many fans. It’s ought to garner a lot of attention and it may be the moment for Ryback to have one memorable feud.
4). Feuds
Speaking off memorable feuds, Ryback hasn’t had even one. Most of his last few feuds seem forced upon even the infamous one with CM Punk. The two better feuds in his career so far have been against Rusev and Bray Wyatt and why even they don’t end up being in the memorable list is because of how abruptly they were made to end.
These matches did not have much creatively going after one low key pay per view match. There was much potential there. What WWE should be doing is finish properly what they start with a roar. Ryback needs a great feud just like all superstars past and present do.
5). Get a Manager
Now, having Paul Heyman manage him was a bad idea. But that doesn’t mean that Ryback doesn’t need a manager. He’s not that bad on the mic but it can help to have somebody else besides him who can make him look like more of a monster, more of a rockstar.
Somebody who brings what Heyman brings with this character called The Beast. Now, Ryback isn’t as agile as Lesnar. What a manager with Ryback can do is make him look more entertaining. Or maybe the manager and Ryback can both talk and seem like a great alliance. That manager isn’t quite here yet. Be it male or female.
