Ever since Daniel Bryan's emergence in WWE, The Miz has been a thorn in Daniel Bryan's side. The Leader of the Yes Movement won his first title in WWE by defeating his arch-rival at 2010's edition of Night Of Champions for the United States Championship.

Shortly after Daniel Bryan's first retirement, The Miz went off on the former WWE Champion on a 2016 edition of Talking Smack by calling Daniel Bryan a coward. Since then, it seems like a match between the two has seemed inevitable.
