WWE has been witnessing a major paradigm shift in the recent years. It was supposed to be a man’s sport. Where men were thought to be the major attractions.
They were thought as the major merchandise sellers, ticket sellers, evoked massive response from the audience and gave classic matches.
But, now all this seems like a story in the past. As the women are taking over WWE and are making sure that they don’t leave a single stone unturned to become the major powers in a big brand such as the WWE.
This shift started when Stephanie McMahon made claims of the audacious plans of a women’s evolution where they will be better, stronger, faster and at the center of everything big happening inside the WWE.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
For all this to be made possible, every woman wrestler has had some sort of contribution. Some more, some less. And today we will see 5 such women wrestler who have been at the forefront of such a change
#5 Sasha Banks
She had a dream that she had to make it, and everyone better get out of the way. As goes her theme song, Sasha has been a focal point of the whole women’s evolution.
She has been part of some of the most amazing matches in the previous years and has been a major face in the WrestleMania plans of WWE every year. Last year she participated in the women’s battle royal at WrestleMania but sadly she couldn’t win it.
Her smug style of wrestling gives her a unique persona and makes her stand out. Along with that she has also won the Women’s championship four times, further solidifying her as a major player in the WWE and making her a huge part of their plan moving forward.
#4 Alexa Bliss
The Goddess of WWE has been amazing when it comes to CUTTING promos and selling a story. Her mic skills are second to none.
The moment she enters she makes people want to boo her and hate on her due to her heel persona and the way she carries herself. She is a real, natural heel.
The one who gets natural, organic responses out of the fans.
She is the only wrestler along with Charlotte Flair to win both the Raw Women’s championship and the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship.
This shows how valuable she is in the eyes of the management and how much preference they give her. But she had to earn her way up. When she debuted on the main roster, she wasn’t as highly touted as the four horsewomen.
And, hopefully she returns soon from her injury and keep earning more and more spotlights into the center of everything great happening in the women’s division.
#3 Charlotte Flair
Woooo!! [ Sorry Becky. But I don’t boo the woo! ] Charlotte Flair has truly been the queen of WWE and she is solidifying herself as probably the greatest female wrestler to ever step foot inside a ring.
Yes, she can easily be compared with the likes of Trish Stratus or Lita for her achievements and her ability to deliver great performances night in and night out.
Wrestling is in her blood and she never shies away from showing how great a wrestler she is.
As she has given some of the best matches of all time, such as the matches against Sasha Banks in the first ever women’s Hell in a Cell or any of her recent matches against Becky Lynch has truly been remarkable.
And as remarked previously she is the only women along with Alexa Bliss to have won women's titles of both the brands.
#2 Ronda Rousey
It was a delightful sight to see Ronda Rousey debut with Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
From that moment on, we all knew that she was destined for big things. And Rousey has not disappointed.
The 'Baddest woman on the planet keeps growing every time she steps foot inside the ring as she keeps making new records and winning fan’s hearts.
Even though its been hard for her to win over the WWE audience but she has done a tremendous job in getting WWE noticed with the mainstream audience and it can be said that this was the number 1 reason for WWE signing Rousey to such a lucrative deal.
She has also been lauded by her fellow female wrestlers as having a very good attitude towards everyone and helping everyone on the way to making an impact in the women’s division.
#1 Becky Lynch
How could ‘ The Man’ not be on the top of any such list? What Lynch is doing has never been done before in the women’s division.
She is getting direct comparisons to legends like Stone Cold and The Rock and she could possibly be the first woman ever alongside Charlotte and Rousey to main event WrestleMania.
Moreover, she is also getting a lot of mainstream attention thanks to her Irish accent and her another Irish Countryman, Conor McGregor.
Becky has always been considered as the 4th of the four horsewomen, meaning that she wasn’t always a priority for the WWE.
But, due to her babyface persona and her ability to get the audience behind her has made the WWE realize that there is no women’s evolution without 'The MAN' .
And, she has just become the first woman ever to lead the WWE Power rankings. That’s a sign of many things big to happen in the career of once in a lifetime wrestler like Becky.
