Hiroyo Matsumoto did great in the Mae Young Classic.

Hiroyo Matsumoto had a pretty underrated run in the tournament. While she was eliminated in the tournament, she looked great. Her first-round match with Rachel Evers was one of the best matches of the first round and of the month.

Her match with Toni Storm was great as well. She looked like a dominant monster throughout the tournament as she was able to stop the energetic Rachel Evers. She was also protected in her loss to Storm as she only lost due to a lucky roll up.

She teased appearing on NXT in an interview after she defeated Evers. That would be great as she can fill in Shayna Baszler's role as the monster heel of the NXT women's division. She can have great matches with the likes of Dakota Kai, Candice LeRae, and Mia Yim.
