Xia Brookside faced Io Shirai in the first round of the Mae Young Classic. Io Shirai was able to defeat her before moving on. Brookside looked impressive during the brief spots that she had control of the matchup.

She is the daughter of British wrestling legend Robbie Brookside and is currently only 19 years old. Xia Brookside is extremely talented for her young age and certainly has a lot of potential. Brookside is extremely small (especially when she is compared to Rhea Ripley) so that would create a great underdog story.
If Rhea Ripley rubs it in that she made it all the way to the semifinals of the Mae Young Classic while Xia Brookside was eliminated in the first round in about five minutes, that would certainly add fuel to the fire. While Rhea Ripley would certainly have to win this matchup, Xia Brookside can still become a star.
