5 women who could replace Paige as the leader of Absolution

With Paige gone, who'll lead the squad on?
With Paige gone, who'll lead the squad on?

The internet is abuzz with speculation that Paige's short but prolific career has come to a bitter end, owing to an injury she sustained. A tragic end to a wonderful tale of passion, dedication and commitment. This begs the question. Who can take her spot?

After all, Absolution is one of the most integral components of the WWE Women's Division on RAW. Without Paige to lead them, we wonder how Rose and Deville will fare on the roster. Let's be honest...they're both quite green.

In this article, we suggest 5 women who could take Paige's spot, and lead this gang of girls on a path of sheer domination. If you think there are other contenders for the same, let us know in the comments section.

There is really no replacement for Paige, but here are 5 women we believe could step in for her, because there really is no other alternative right now...

#5 Sasha Banks

Could WWE turn the real life incident into a work?
What if it was a swerve all along?

If Absolution has wreaked havoc on RAW thus far, the one barrier they've faced at every turn has been Sasha Banks. While this may be far too bold a move to pull off (and in some ways a tasteless one), WWE has never been afraid of incorporating elements from real life into their storylines.

What if Sasha Banks comes out as the leader of Absolution, and announces that it was her plan to be the 'Boss' of Absolution all along. To achieve the same, she took Paige out. As we've seen in NXT, The Boss is far better as a heel than as a babyface.

This may give Banks' own character a fresh coat of paint. Yes, she's still one of the top performers in WWE's Women's Division, but she's not got the same kind of momentum she had during her feud with Charlotte Flair.

Added to the fact that Sasha Banks was supposed to turn heel in 2017, but for some reason it was delayed for the foreseeable future. A heel turn is long overdue for The Boss.

And let's face it, if it comes down to it, Banks will do a pretty great job as the leader of this stable!

#4 Nikki Cross

Maybe all Absolution needs is a dose of inSAnitY
Maybe all Absolution needs is a dose of inSAnitY

While Rose and Deville do seem a tad underprepared for their role on RAW, there is a woman on NXT that seems very competent indeed. Her name is Nikki Cross and she's currently a member of the SAnitY stable.

With Cross in charge of Absolution, imagine the chaotic faction the group will turn into. Cross' sadistic ways could lead the stable to some really interesting programs and feuds. Let's face it, as great a performer as Paige was, Cross' gimmick just allows far more Creative freedom.

The WWE Universe has wanted Cross on the main roster for a while. She's such a lunatic, on screen at least, that she even makes Dean Ambrose seem normal.

By calling her up, WWE also secures a brand new name for the Women's Royal Rumble match.

#3 Mickie James

It would be a much better use of her talents
It would be a much better use of her talents

Mickie James may just be the most under-utilized performer in all of WWE currently. One of the women who paved the way for the Women's Division of today, finds herself relegated to the role of Sasha Banks' sidekick in her battle against the villainous Absolution.

We know that James is a fantastic wrestler. As she proved during her program with Alexa Bliss, she's a great promo as well. While this is a chant we've come to deplore, she's still got it!

Imagine how much both Rose and Deville can learn by their mere proximity to Mickie James. It would also be a spot worthy of a talent like James.

After all, despite her age, Mickie James has proved time and again that she can still hang with the best in the current women's division.

#2 Natalya

Natalya's out of the title picture on SmackDown Live now
Natalya's out of the title picture on SmackDown Live right now

The primary feud on SmackDown Live right now is the one between The Riott Squad and Charlotte Flair. Natalya and the Welcoming Committee are all playing an ancillary role in the same feud, but let's be honest, it's just a waste of Natalya's wealth of talent.

We could totally imagine her shifting to RAW, to lead Absolution into the future. Much like Mickie James, Natalya is a ring general that can guide the two younger women. She's okay on the microphone, and can take over from Paige fantastically.

Imagine the great matches Natalya could have with someone like Sasha Banks, or even Asuka. She will start as a fresh new character on RAW, given the amount of time she's spent on SmackDown Live.

#1 Alexa Bliss

This is an option that makes complete sense
Now this option makes complete sense, in a weird way

From the very outset, we knew that Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka would be a lopsided affair. After all, Asuka is undefeated and seemingly absolutely unstoppable. Bliss has been booked like a coward, thus far. The contest would be far more even, with two loyal allies by Alexa Bliss' side.

Enter Paige's former faction- Absolution. Bliss could easily assume leadership and lead the trio in a war against Asuka. This is important because Bliss' former best friend Nia Jax has so far made it clear that she won't be manipulated by Little Miss Bliss.

Asuka vs. Absolution sounds like an interesting feud. It also gives Asuka two more bodies to roll through, in her seemingly unstoppable streak.

Also, who wouldn't want a Goddess to lead them into the light?
