Ever since Shawn Michaels returned to the squared circle in a tag-team match against The Brothers of Destruction, many felt that this was the start of something beautiful.
There were tons of rumours surrounding the Heart Break Kid, and most of them reported that the former WWE Champion would be interested in having more matches before he closes the curtain on an incredible career.
While a match with the Undertaker was also in the works for Survivor Series, it was Daniel Bryan who was being pencilled in as the final opponent for the Show Stopper at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Judging by how the match at Crown Jewel transpired, Michaels certainly felt the wrath of returning back to the squared circle and has remained mum on an in-ring return in the future.
Considering that he may have not been interested in wrestling again, this led to the management dropping the idea and keeping Bryan as the WWE Champion.
