What was the point in Undertaker vs Shane McMahon?
The Undertaker has had a number of disappointing matches at WrestleMania in recent years, but one of the worst was when he faced Shane McMahon inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32. The stipulation was that if Shane won then he would gain control of WWE, but he lost.

Shane has since gone on to gain full control of SmackDown Live as the commissioner anyway, so what was the point in having a match for control of the company if there was a plan for Shane to go on to be SmackDown's commissioner anyway?

The Undertaker was supposed to face John Cena at WrestleMania 32 but he wasn't cleared to compete in time which is why Shane was brought in in his place and this match was created, but the stipulation shouldn't have been added if WWE weren't going to honor it.
