Before walking into WWE, AJ Styles had an incredible career in many other promotions such as New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and Total Nonstop Action/Impact Wrestling (TNA). This made him arguably the biggest free agent in the wrestling industry that the company has ever signed.
Long before Styles first put on his wrestling gear, The Undertaker was one of the top Superstars in WWE and the entire business. Even to this day, The Undertaker’s entrance can get a bigger pop from the crowd that anything Styles has ever done in the ring.
Since both men are veterans of the game and could retire sooner than later, WWE could build more hype around WrestleMania by making this match a Career vs. Career match.
Both men have arguably the best in-ring careers, and putting such high stakes to this clash will make things extremely interesting as fans aren’t ready to see either Superstar go. Of course, the loser doesn’t necessarily have to leave the industry after taking the loss, and if WWE plans on having The Deadman win this one, then it’ll be great to see Styles return the very next day on RAW and build even more heat around his character.
