The Undertaker dream match everyone has been clamoring for for years. WWE legend vs. WCW legend. It was one of the most talked about and most anticipated matches that never happened.

When Sting joined the WWE, there was hope that the match could finally happen, but it sadly did not materialize. It remains on the wishlist and dream match list of most wrestling fans around the world.

The Undertaker told Barstool Sports about the idea of the match:

"I mean, being completely honest, at this point, it would have been cool in the 90s. Even, it would have been cool in the early 2000s. But there’s a reason why the last ride came about and I’ve called it a day. Although I have it here, and I have it in my heart to do, my body just doesn’t cooperate with the other two factors in that. So it becomes really difficult. I just don’t want people to get a watered-down version of that character," The Undertaker said. (h/t Essentially Sports)

An interesting fact, The Undertaker and Sting have competed against each other before, long before their times in WWE and WCW. The Undertaker was named Mean Mark during this run, prior to becoming The Deadman we know and love today. It was a match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship where Sting walked out as the champion.

Would the same have happened if they were to square off with their larger-than-life gimmicks? I guess we'll never know.
