Daniel Bryan had the potential to be at the top of the ladder for a very long period of time, but injuries and concussions prevented him from being so.
He was forced to retire and was made the General Manager of Smackdown Live, during which he reignited a decade-long feud with The Miz. This has been the focal point of the show ever since Bryan made his in-ring return after getting clearance from the WWE doctors.
It will be a fairytale comeback if Bryan manages to win the match and climb the top of the ladder once again.
