#1. Hope is true: Roman Reigns' alliance with Paul Heyman and future in WWE
Perhaps the most shocking thing that happened in the WWE world this past week was the end of Friday Night SmackDown before Payback, where Roman Reigns signed his contract and revealed to be aligned with Paul Heyman - the advocate of his bitter rival Brock Lesnar.
The idea was floated around for a while, but it appears to be a case where WWE is finally turning Roman Reigns heel after all these years. According to PWInsider, Roman Reigns is now a Paul Heyman guy and WWE's plan is for Roman Reigns to be the top heel on SmackDown going forward.
The idea is that 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt will likely turn babyface while Roman Reigns goes to the dark side for the first time in six years. It's been a long time coming. While there hasn't been any particular need to turn Roman Reigns heel, his return at SummerSlam seemed to mark an entirely new direction for him. We hope this is true because it would be surreal to see a heel Roman Reigns in 2020.
