#4 Hope is true: Rey Mysterio to continue working with Cain Velasquez in the near future

Rey Mysterio and Cain Velasquez will continue to be a pairing

The biggest moment on the FOX premiere of Friday Night SmackDown a couple of weeks ago was Cain Velasquez’s WWE debut. Former UFC Champion Velasquez, who recently wrestled down in Mexico, is all set to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel later this month.

The man who accompanied Velasquez on his SmackDown debut was WWE legend Rey Mysterio. In storyline, Rey did this to avenge the beating Lesnar had given to his son Dominic.

The rumor mill also suggests Rey will continue to accompany Velasquez for the near future to help get him over with WWE fans who may not be aware of his legacy in the UFC. Cain is set to team with Mysterio at an upcoming WWE Live Event in Mexico City on November 30th.

Velasquez’s pairing with Mysterio can only be beneficial to him. Mysterio is still a beloved WWE legend and this could even eventually lead to an angle between the two if WWE want to turn Velasquez heel.
