WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston was born in Ghana in 1981 to Ghanian parents. A year later, they moved to the United States.
In his early WWE days, the company introduced Kingston to the WWE Universe as a Jamaican superstar. Even in interviews, the 40-year-old insisted he was born in Jamaica. However, his mother Elizabeth confirmed he was born in Ghana.
"I told him: 'Kofi, your cousins watch you on TV in Ghana and want to know why you don't say you're from Ghana.' He said: 'Tell them it is business.'" Kingston's mother added.

Later, Kingston dropped the Jamaican gimmick, and WWE began introducing him as a Ghanian wrestler. The former WWE Champion has lived nearly his entire life in the United States and has become an American citizen. Because Ghana allows dual citizenship, he is now a Ghanaian-American dual citizen.
Last Monday on RAW, Kingston teamed up with his New Day partners Xavier Woods and Big E to face The Bloodline but failed .
