Like many other stars on this list, Ricky's son Richie decided he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps. Richie started competing in amateur wrestling when he was just five years old and even wrestled Ric Flair's son Reid numerous times in high school.
Richie went on to win four titles in amateur wrestling and was even offered a place on the junior Olympic team, but he turned it down. Instead, he turned his attention to the independent wrestling scene where he debuted as Ricky Steamboat Jr. in 2008.
The following year, Steamboat was signed to WWE and sent to FCW, he went on to win the FCW World Championship before the brand was revamped into NT in 2012.
After an intense feud with Kassius Ohno, Richie was forced onto the sidelines when it was revealed that he required back surgery. Steamboat was released from his NXT contract in 2013 and his father later revealed that following the injury, he would be unable to wrestle again.
