"I had a breakup right before I saw her. So I was kind of down. And she was there, scooped me up and things just happened, man," he said.
After dating for a few months, Chyna and X-Pac announced their engagement. Nevertheless, their romance reportedly ended in 2005.
During the former Women's Champion's memorial in 2016, her ex-fiancé revealed in his speech that he loved her until the day she passed away. He also promised to do everything in his power to get her into the Hall of Fame.
"Joanie and I had a really rocky relationship (...) Until the day she died, I loved her very much, I really did (...) I hope you forgive me for not taking better care of you (...) and I'll do everything in my power to make sure you end up in the WWE Hall of Fame where you belong," he said.
Three years later, both Chyna and X-Pac entered the Hall of Fame as part of D-Generation X.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, the former Cruiserweight Champion expressed his happiness to see his ex-fiancée get the recognition she deserves. He also disclosed that he believes Chyna also deserves a solo induction.
In 2020, X-Pac got inducted into the Hall of Fame for the second time as part of the New World Order (NWO). He is now a two-time Hall of Famer.
