AJ Lee and Stephanie McMahon had several interactions whilst she was WWE Divas Champion and made it clear that there wasn't a lot of love lost between them.

Later in her career, Lee Tweeted Stephanie McMahon regarding the fact that there is no equal pay between the men and the women in the company. This was off the back of something that McMahon was trying to promote as the Chief Brand Officer for WWE and it was reported that she wasn't impressed that Lee had made her complaint publicly.

McMahon responded to the Tweet politely, but it was made clear that there were some issues between the two women that were not settled at the time that Lee was with the company. McMahon wrestled a match at WrestleMania a few years ago and could be in a position where she could wrestle another match if given the opportunity and the right opponent. Lee herself hasn't been in the ring for six years, but this story could be so compelling that it would be worth making her return.
