The Daniel Bryan vs. Shinsuke Nakamura dream match did take place during last week's SmackDown, however, it was in the dark segment, so it didn't air on television, and if it doesn't air on television, then it doesn't count in WWE's world.
I'm expecting Nakamura to win the WWE Championship from AJ Styles at some point in the near future, which will hopefully lead to him holding the title until next year's WrestleMania, where he'll be challenged by the Royal Rumble winner, Daniel Bryan.
Booking Daniel Bryan in a WWE Championship match against Shinsuke Nakamura at the biggest show of the year would probably prevent the hardcore fans from hijacking the show, because it'd be impossible for the fans to be disappointed in WWE's booking of Bryan.
And, of course, I'd have Bryan pick up the win.
