At the 2009 No Way Out pay per view, the Rated R Superstar, Edge, defeated John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Mike Knox and Kane to capture the World Heavyweight championship. It's strange to think that nine years ago the Elimination Chamber involved former ECW talent Mike Knox as part of a World Heavyweight championship match up. John Cena came into the match holding the championship that Edge claimed.
Sadly it would be just a couple of years later that Edge would be forced to have to retire, and in the process relinquish the World Heavyweight championship that he had just regained after Wrestlemania. Today, Edge can be heard alongside friend and former tag team champion Christian as part of the E&C Podcast of Awesomeness. He is also actively seen in film and on television, including the popular show ‘Vikings.' He is married to former WWE Divas and Women's champion, and recent Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix.
