#5. 3-time United States Champion Sheamus

After establishing himself on the European wrestling scene, Sheamus got his big break in 2006 when he signed with WWE. In 2009, Sheamus rose to the top, winning his first championship at the TLC pay-per-view when he defeated John Cena in a tables match. It's also worth noting that he has also held the United States title and the tag titles multiple times.

Sheamus suffered an injury last September and was on the shelf for several months. He returned this past April but was criticized heavily by fans who suggested he was out of shape. Sheamus reacted by getting into phenomenal shape and has recently been targeting the Intercontinental title. The last time Sheamus won a title was several years ago at WrestleMania 37 when he won the United States title.

#4. 3-time United States Champion AJ Styles

Prior to signing with WWE, AJ Styles was arguably the top free agent in the world. He won major titles with TNA and ROH and in Japan. When the rumors started flying regarding Styles coming to WWE, fans were excited about the chance of getting someone who once appeared to be untouchable.

AJ Styles stunned the world when he debuted as the third entrant in the 2016 Royal Rumble match. He quickly ascended to the top of the WWE mountain, becoming a triple crown and a grand slam champion. The last time AJ had a title around his waist was during his time with Omos. Together, they won the tag titles at WrestleMania 37.

#3. 15-time Women's Champion Charlotte Flair

It's been over a year now since we last saw the queen of pro wrestling, Charlotte Flair. She has been on the shelf since last December, nursing a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. There hasn't been much talk regarding a timeline for her return, but there have been rumors that have started circulating.

Charlotte started her WWE journey during a time in which the company was restructuring the developmental process, and right before the birth of the women's revolution, which changed the landscape for the division. Charlotte has piled a ton of title wins on her plate, but it's been a while since she held a championship. Her last reign came a couple of years ago when she squashed Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown women's title.

#2. 5-time WWE Champion CM Punk

When CM Punk announced that he was done with WWE in 2014, no one expected to see him return. His relationship with the company was unhealthy, and it was best for everyone involved if he walked away. But after spending a little time with AEW, The Second City Saint made his WWE return at the 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames event.

It's been quite a while since CM Punk has held championship gold. His last title win in WWE was in 2011 when he defeated Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series. Punk held the WWE title for over 400 days before dropping the belt to The Rock at the 2013 Royal Rumble PPV.

#1. 16-time Champion John Cena

After 25 years of hustle, loyalty, and respect, John Cena is hanging up the jorts for good as his "The Last Time Is Now" farewell tour kicks off soon. Cena made the announcement back at Money in the Bank that he was retiring, and that 2025 will be his final hoorah.

Throughout his legendary career, John Cena has won many titles and has worked his way into the argument to be considered one of the greatest of all time. Cena has a long list of accolades to his credit, but it's been a long time since he has won any sort of title. His last championship victory was nearly a decade ago when he won the United States title.
