5 WWE Legends With The Weakest Finishers

These finishers are the worst but got over
These finishers are the worst but got over with fans

There are hundreds of finishing moves used in professional wrestling and the main objective of each finisher is to end a match. Finishers are supposed to look so dangerous that the person receiving the move looks like he/she will not be able to get up for a while. There are many different types of finishers, with each professional wrestler having their own unique move or using those that have been innovated by their predecessors. Some finishers look pretty cool and others just look absolutely bizarre.

Over the years, we have seen wrestlers use finishers that look dangerous and deadly, while some are just too silly to be taken seriously. When performing a finisher, wrestlers have to protect themselves and their opponents to avoid botching the move and ending up in hospital. There are a number of WWE legends that we thought had the coolest finishers and no matter how silly some of them were, they were still fun to watch.

Follow Sportskeeda for the latest WWE news, rumors and all other wrestling news.

Those silly finishers got over with the crowds even though they didn't have much of an impact. They were too simple and basic to be taken seriously as a finisher. In the past wrestlers had the weirdest finishing moves, but as time went on new finishers were innovated. Here are top 5 GOAT WWE Superstars with the worst finishers.

#5 Big Show - WMD/KO Punch

The WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction), also known as the KO Punch is a finishing maneuver performed by WWE Superstar Big Show. He uses his fists to knock out his opponents instantly since he has the largest hands than anyone else. Although this does make a bit sense for a man of his size to KO his opponent with a single punch, it just doesn't work unless he does it with enough force.

Legitimate punching is illegal is in professional wrestling so it doesn't make sense for him to go around punching other people. He could've just punched his opponent in the beginning of a match and just be over with it. Big Show should've stuck to his other finisher, The Chokeslam as it is more believable than the KO Punch. The WMD is just a normal punch and shouldn't be used as a finisher.

#4 Mick Foley - The Mandible Claw

The Mandible Claw is a finishing move performed by the hardcore legend himself Mick Foley. The reason why this finisher is on this list is that there's nothing very effective about the move and its a pretty weird and silly finisher. Mick Foley wrestled in WWE as Mankind, Dude Love, and Cactus Jack. In all of his three personas, he used The Mandible Claw as his finisher.

All he had to do was put a sock over his hand, which he calls 'Mr Socko' and then stick it into his opponent's mouth. The fact that this was used as a finisher is still weird. Although shoving your hand into someone's mouth can be dangerous, as a hardcore legend there is nothing brutal about this move. The Mandible Claw still got over with fans to this day despite being completely bizarre.

#3 The Ultimate Warrior - Ultimate Splash

WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior performed a finishing move called the Ultimate Splash, which was performed by simply lifting his opponents in the air and dropping them onto the mat with a Gorilla Press Drop. He would then run onto the ropes and performed a running splash onto his fallen opponent.

What made this move look less effective was the fact that Warrior landed on his knees and elbows when he fell on his opponent's back. It would've made more sense if the splash was performed as a signature move. It is not very interesting and doesn't look like it has much of an impact. Another finishing move would've suited Warrior better.

#2 Hulk Hogan - Atomic Leg Drop

Hulk Hogan is known for his charisma and mannerisms in the 80's and 90's where he was the biggest name in professional wrestling. He performed a leg drop as his finishing move, one of the worst finishers to ever exist. Although it is painful for a 300-pound man to drop their leg on your neck, it just didn't look very painful when he did it to bigger wrestlers, such as Big Show, André the Giant and others.

The leg drop got over with fans because of Hogan's charisma. It would've looked more devastating and believable if performed by bigger superstars such as Big Show or Yokozuna. Former WWE Raw Woman's Champion Nia Jax also performs the leg drop as her finisher but it looks painful when she does it because she is bigger than the rest of the female superstars.

#1 The Rock - People's Elbow

The People's Elbow is just like any other elbow drop in professional wrestling. The Rock, however, made a simple move look so electrifying and impactful that he uses it as one of his finishers. The move is fun to watch, and despite it being harmless, it is still the most electrifying move in sports entertainment.

The Rock performs the move with theatrics and, no matter how you look at it, it is still one of the worst finishers in WWE. It clearly looks harmless but fans still get behind it every time. Anyone can perform the move. It is safe and easy. The Rock is a legend, but having a move like this despite getting positive crowd reactions, is a bit too silly.
